HOW TEENS WIN | Chapters 9 & 10

Have you heard of the Orca Man on Instagram? He’s got a cool backstory. As a child, he dreamt of training, well, orca whales! His parents could have easily dismissed his lofty goal, but instead, they encouraged what was available to him at the time—science classes, swim lessons, “adopt a whale,” etc.

Fast forward, Fred—the Orca Man—spends his days sharing his passion by connecting people to the world of wild orcas!

Fred’s story is very similar to what chapters nine and ten promote, and it is in alignment with Stephen Covey’s advice to “Begin with the end in mind.”

Before moving to the next chapters, check in with your young man about their goals regarding school, money, relationships, health, and fun. It’ll be an excellent opportunity to understand what they feel personally connected to, discuss what they are in (and not in) control of, and dream about what the “win” looks like.

Talk It Over Questions

We have read chapters 9 and 10.
